MHA Coaching License Season
The MHA is happy to report a good number of applicants for the MHA Coaching License. The applications have been received and vetted by the MHA Technical Team. Through this process the applicants will be granted a license to be able to coach in season 2026/2027 in line with the Rinck Convention.
As from season 2026/2027 the following coaching license classes will be mandatory for coaches to be able to be listed as the licensed coach on the bench during the MHA Competitions.
The table below depicts the minimum license category for each competition.

Coaching License Categories
The MHA has created a coaching license structure in line with the Rinck Convention as stipulated by the European Handball Federation. In view of this, five classes of licenses have been created with each class based on minimum entry requirements, and each class will be allowed to coach certain categories.

Continuous Personal Development
The development of a coach is a continuous journey thus as part of the process of attaining a coaching license for season 2026/2027 a coach will need to carry out a number of hours of technical training through MHA approved seminars in Season 2025/2026.
The following hours of technical training and development required per category:
- License Categories A and B a total of six (6) hours of CPDs
- License Categories C to E a total of ten (10) hours of CPDs

The MHA Coaching License process has been introduced in order to continue increasing the quality of our communities coaching and helping to further develop our coaches from a technical perspective.
It is imperative to note that only licensed coaches who have fulfilled the license requirements will be allowed to coach during season 2026/2027.
