The Malta Handball Association (MHA) continued to host events for its Mini Handball Festival series planned for the 2025 /2026 season, marking another important milestone in the Association’s long-term strategy to strengthen youth development in handball across Malta.

The latest event welcomed around 40 Under-10 players from Phoenix, La Salle, and Kavallieri Handball Clubs, who took part in 10 fast-paced, nine-minute matches. It provided an engaging and educational environment where young children learned the core values of teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship through play.

“These mini-handball festivals are a key part of the MHA’s long-term strategy to develop the sport locally,” said David Ruch,  MHA Technical Director. “Thanks to the ongoing support from the European Handball Federation (EHF), handball in Malta continues to grow steadily.”

The MHA plans to organise 21 additional festivals throughout the upcoming season, covering the Under-8, Under-10, and Under-13 age categories. The next event, scheduled for 16th November, will be dedicated to Under-8 players.
