Malta, October 2026
The Malta Handball Association (MHA) held its Annual General Meeting on Friday 16 October 2026, with all member clubs in attendance.
Members approved the Annual Report and the Financial Report for the year ended 30 June 2026. The accounts show a near break-even result after a substantial deficit the previous year.
The meeting ratified the appointment of the Association’s four Chiefs: Alan Grima (Strategy), Matthew Mamo (Technical), Marylyn Agius (Match Officiating) and Dr Maurice Meli (Arbitration). Members also appointed Dr Maurice Meli, Dr Jake Buttigieg, Dr Gianluca Sammut and Dr Andrew Drago as Arbitrary Commissioners. Luxol Handball Academy was admitted as a member of the Association.
The meeting noted that Dr Terence Cassar joins the Management Board from 1 November 2026 and that InariLaw will act as the Association’s legal advisors.
MHA President Vladimiro Comodini said:
“I thank all our clubs for their attendance and constructive participation. Having every club in the room reflects a shared commitment to the future of Maltese handball. Our focus remains on building the right structures first, so that the sport can grow sustainably. We are grateful to SportMalta for its continued support.”
The next Council meeting will be held on Tuesday 24 November 2026.
