Following our participation in the Under 24 IHF Men’s Emerging Nations Championship held in Varna, Bulgaria. Our National Team staff continues to work and analyze the team’s performance at the Championship.

According to Men’s National Team Assistant coach Matthew Mamo;

“Following our participation in the IHF Emerging Nations in April, we continue to work towards improving, taking one more step in our learning process. We are now analysing our performance both as a team and also as individuals, and some of the numbers are starting to show a change in pattern.

In attack the team had the 2nd highest attempts on goal and also the 3rd highest number of assists, which shows a reduced reliance on individual attacks and a shift towards organised attacks.

In defense the team finished 2nd in the competition for number of steals signialling a clear change in the interpretation of the defensive phase.

These are only the first tiny steps in the process but are a great starting point.”

This analysis process is still going on and it is part of our MHA strategic plan.
