The Under 16 Handball National Schools Championship for both boys and girls took place at the University Sports Hall on Thursday 24th November 2022 and on Tuesday 29th November 2022 respectively. It was of great pleasure for the MHA to hold such an event after an absence of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The colleges and schools which took part during the boy’s event were Stella Maris College, Maria Regina College, Żejtun Secondary School, De La Salle College and St. Clara College Secondary Pembroke. Whilst during the girl’s event the participating colleges and schools were Maria Regina College, Immaculate Conception School and St. Clara College Secondary Pembroke.
For the boy’s championship De La Salle were the winners, whereas Maria Regina College were the winners for the girl’s championship.
Diogo Castro, our MHA development and technical director was present during both events in which he monitored and identified potential talented students. He also met the teachers involved and explained teaching methods that they could adopt during their respective handball P.E lesson and at the end he gave a brief speech to the students in which he explained how they can enroll within a handball club of their choice.
Our main priority during such events is that the students enjoy playing the game in a fun environment for ALL.
