Swieqi Phoenix HC collect both Super Cup titles

Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix vs Kavallieri RS2 31-26

 

Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix won the first trophy of the season in a match which showed some good display of handball from both teams. Swieqi built a 2-goal lead by the 15 minute and increased it to 4 by the end of the first half. In the second half, the match maintained the same rhythm with Kavallieri closing the gap to 2 goals in the 57th minute. It was at this time, that Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix regained composure and a 5-goal difference to win the match. Dragica Mitrova (Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix) was the top scorer of the match with 11 goals. At the end of the match, EHF Expert Dr. Julian Bauer presented the Super Cup to Swieqi Media Troopers Phoenix captain Natasha Celic.

Swieqi Instacoins Phoenix vs Kavallieri RS2 37-35

The first half was a rather balanced affair which saw Swieqi Instacoins Phoenix leading by 3 goals. The goal margin increased to 8 goals by the 53rd minute of the match. At this point, Kavallieri RS2 switched to a more offensive defence and managed to reduce the deficit to just one goal with one minute to go. However, Matthew Spiteri secured victory for his team with the last goal 30 seconds from the end. Christian McClean and Benjamin Spiteri scored 9 and 8 goals respectively for Swieqi Instacoins Phoenix while Liam Harrison (9 goals) and newcomer Jules Foureau (8 goals) were the top scorers for KavallierI RS2. At the end of the match, Mr. Paul Zammit, President of the Malta Handball Association presented the Super Cup to Swieqi Instacoins Phoenix captain Clinton Mifsud.
